2.45pm – 3.30pm: ‘Speak Out! How to Make an Emotional Connection in Communication’ –Duncan Lewis, Eaglei

Duncan poses the question - Have you ever stopped to wonder why you make a distinction between the personality you show at work and home?

After all, it is you – the same person. Of course, you use and display different skills and attributes at work and home, but it is still you. So why is it that you only allow yourself to display for example, 50% of who you really are at work? And what happens to the other half?

  • How effective are you at presenting the real you?
  • If you have pitched for business and lost the contract, what feedback do you receive about you and your performance?
  • Do you confront situations and how authentic are you at doing this?

To find out the answers to these questions and more you need to give yourself permission and have the confidence to Speak Out! and display more of your complete personality - your Human Element.

3.30pm - 4.00pm: Suzanne Burnett - HR Christmas Quiz and to close the HR & Employment Law Seinar.

This is a free event for both CIPD and non-CIPD Members. Business Owners/Managers are very welcome to book. Early booking recommended as our Employment Law Updates are often fully subscribed.

This event is free to attend, however, we do reserve the right to charge a £10 no-show fee for those who are unable to attend who do not contact us with apologies (except in exceptional circumstances).

All of our branch events are organised by volunteers who give up their time freely to provide CPD opportunities for others in North Yorkshire, events are funded through branch funds, and our speakers (who at most receive expenses only) give up their time freely to prepare and present their sessions. With this in mind, if you do book on an event and find you’re no longer able to attend – please email and give your apologies to those involved with the event – we really do appreciate this, especially in advance where possible as this might allow us to avoid catering wasteage, but if it’s an unavoidable last minute cancellation we’d still like to hear from you.
